The kids plopped down on the sidewalk for a quick snack, they dropped a drooled-on chip, they picked it up and generously offered it to me: “here you go”. LOL Of course I ate it! ;) Those two are soooo scrumptious, funny and smart. They totally killed me when they called me ”Tia Vanessa” (aunt) in their perfectly sugary tiny tot voice. Goodness. This family photo shoot was in the books for a bit waiting to be able to accommodate everyone’s schedule. We ended up missing just one person, but the love was ALL there. We had Grandma and Grandpa with grandkids, generation portraits, the boys, the girls, and many more. I could only fit so many on this blog post so I included some of my favorites. It was great seeing them again after (I think) about 5 years since their last family shoot. Yosie, you’ve been waiting patiently…enjoy!!! ♥ Vanessa

This was the first session of the year and it was the perfect way to kick off 2011… twin boys, big brother Jack and Grandma and Grandpa (visiting all the way from England!). Jack and I hit it off right away, we played hide and seek, he showed me his karate moves and his brand new Christmas-delivered toys. Everyone did fabulously, specially the twins who hung in there through the upheaval from their regular non-eventful days. It’s always an honor photographing grandparents with their grandkids, it’s such a special relationship and a very particular kind of tenderness that I really enjoy watching. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

When Christelle called about doing a family photo session she said her sister was coming from Germany with her niece, her parents where coming from France, her husband was flying in from Dallas (that I remember) and they only a few days to try to get the family photos before everyone went back. So – no matter what – we needed to shoot on this day at this time…in full bright sunlight. The chilly weather was a perfect balance for the hot sun rays. Language was fun issue with Grandma and Grandpa as they don’t speak English, so I did a lot of miming…but they required very little directing, they were such naturals. That last shot of them running was his idea! Here are a few favorites from this fun, relaxed, lovely group. Just beautiful. ♥ Vanessa

The last session of all the Chichi Baby Collections is always fun, inspiring and slightly bittersweet. By this final session the baby I began photographing at a few days or months of age is walking and moving about the world, so inspiring to experience life in such a palpable way. This little guy in particular is even more inspiring. He was born a few months too early and, while he had a rough start, he is defying all expectations and is absolutely thriving! Mom and Dad are absolutely in love with him as are his older brothers and sisters. Can’t wait to see him grow through the years to come. Congratulations guys!! Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

What can I say about this family…especially the patriarch (Skip) and matriarch (Eileen)? Just look at their photos together and you can feel the connection between them. It is what happiness looks like if you ask me. This photo session was a gift for their 46 year wedding anniversary…46 years!!! I’m so thankful that I got to witness this kind of connection and document it for them and the whole family. There are a ton of great shots of the kids, the daughters with the husbands, Dad with daughers, cookies, football, cameras, you name it…but this post would have been way too long. Why the Supers? Well, it was only after I told little Maggie that she was Supergirl and that Mom and Dad were Supermom and Superdad that she got excited about playing along for this shoot. She is so adorable and imaginative…loved her sweet spirit. Now, Oliver (a.k.a. Superdog) was the first baby of this family and was mostly well behaved; but, his curiosity got the best of him when it came to the nearby lake/pond, so he figured he’d walk right into it to investigate and was soaked with pond water for the rest of the shoot. :) Never a dull moment…excellent! You may remember this beautiful family from many appearances on the blog (here and here and here). At the beginning of the year Mom told me they would be moving to New Jersey mid year. It so happened that another long-time client had also moved to New Jersey, so we coordinated a trip to Jersey to photograph both families a couple of weeks ago. I was so excited to see them all, it had been a long time since I had photographed Mason and family, and everything was picture perfect. Here are a few faves, I know Mom is dying to see them. It’s hard to believe, but it’s time for Veronica’s second photo session post! She’s now four months and getting more adorable by the minute. I loved the polka dot hat and bottoms Mom had picked out, which were perfect for some gorgeous shots by the pool. She was a trooper and gave me many beautiful images. Thank you Vero! The next session is at 8 months which is one of my favorite shoots of the first year…she’s going to be even more adorable in those, I just know it. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

When my client and good friend asked me what I thought about photographing her two boys on their boat I immediately knew it would be fantastic. Matthew and Cameron are such characters, both wise beyond their years, inadvertently hilarious and they LOVE the ocean. We spent the whole day on the boat, hung out on a float in Boca Chita (I napped) and wrapped it up with some magical sunset light by Key Biscayne. It was One Fine Day…don’t you agree? Yes, I have SUCH a hard job..don’t hate. ;) Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa
