This maternity session was so sweet, quiet, and relaxed. We were able to fit in the session right before the holidays and, although a little warm for that time of year, the weather was ridiculously beautiful and the light equally dreamy….just pure love and joy. Sharon and Eduardo are having their first baby and could not be more over the moon. She’s due any day now and will probably be welcoming baby sometime next week. Can’t wait to meet and photograph the little munchkin. ♥ Vanessa

The Holiday Season is the busiest time of the year for portrait photographers. We’re doing everything from family photos, children photos, Christmas cards and Holiday Cards, to photo presents, frames, canvas prints, and albums……..it’s CRA.ZY….and all before the Holidays! For some reason, this year seems to have caught everyone by surprise with its sheer speed, including me. I feel like I blinked and…helloooo December? What?!?! How? When?!? We are now two weeks from Christmas and three weeks from beginning a whole new year all over again! I swear it was only yesterday that sweet Alexa was the image of the week yet it’s been over a year! And just look at how much she’s grown. I LOVE her spunky personality, but loved even more the 10 seconds of stillness she gave for this shot. ♥ Vanessa

Cuddly. Twisty. Gorgeous. Perfect. Caleb! Isn’t he delicious? After having done beautiful Mommy’s maternity session, I couldn’t wait to meet her bouncing baby boy. He was as perfect as a baby can be. Mommy didn’t want to be in any of the shots, even though she looked amazing already (less than a week after birth), so the star of the photo shoot was this little guy……and he sure didn’t disappoint, right? A couple of days before Halloween I got to photograph this little guy at a pumpkin patch in Miami Lakes. He was thrilled and unstoppable! Tristan did not pause for longer than 8 seconds at any given time, so it was a great exercise physically and photographically (a moving subject and changing light in each shot). The whole session took a little under an hour and I’m sure Dad thought we didn’t get anything decent. But, the great thing is that photography is literally a split second of time, so that’s all I need to get those in-between moments. Here are two of many from this cute session. ♥ Vanessa

Remember this chic Mommy’s maternity session? Well, not too long after that session, baby Ivanna was born. Welcome to the world Ivanna! They came to the studio for a very quiet, sweet, intimate newborn photo session that was one of the quickest I’ve ever done. Ivanna was out practically the whole time and allowed me to do just about everything. This image was one of my favorites; you can just feel the love and connection between them. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

This little guy is big brother to Angelina who was last week’s Image of the Week. They look so alike don’t they? I’ve also been photographing Danny since he was in Mommy’s belly and he’s now almost two years old! He is as adorable as ever. Images like this one are what makes me love photographing children…the sweet, disheveled, innocent, simple and joyfully divine chaos of it all. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

She smiled. She laughed. She cried. She drank. She drooled. But one of my favorite shots from Angelina’s second session was this very tender look she gave me when I got so close to her face that she just had to look as if to say “hey lady, back up a little”. If she could have talked, I would have loved to hear her thoughts at this moment. I could tell she was curious about seeing her reflection in the lens yet hesitant about how close I’d gotten. I just couldn’t help myself…could you?  ♥

Good heavens. This shot of Carolina in quickly becoming one of my favorites of the year. Her skin is the always-right “baby cream”, her pudgy feet and legs are perfectly pinchable and her eyes are saying everything that needs to be said. I know I know, pinchable is not a word, but just look at her! Don’t you just want to squeeze her to pieces?!? There are many more great shots from this session that I’m reserving for Mommy and Daddy. This little guy had the funniest, most contagious laugh I’ve heard in a long time; I had a hard time keeping the camera straight when he laughed. I absolutely LOVE the laughter of children, it’s so honest, innocent and real. This was Benjamin’s third session from his Chichi Baby Collection, his previous session we did at home, so Mom wanted to do this one in the studio – mostly to escape the heat (phew). The bond between Mommy and Benjamin is so palpable, it was exactly that connection that generated the laughter and the giggles. When I saw this image I immediately thought of one of my favorite quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson, so I wanted to share them both. Nancy, you’re an amazing Mom and it truly shows. This sweet beautiful young lady has two very cool cousins who came up with the fantastic idea of doing her Quince photo session while she was in town visiting family. Of course I thought it was a great idea also. Angelica’s quince session had all the makings of a model shoot, the hair, the make up and the style. We did a studio session and a beach session which came out gorgeous also. Here’s a sneak peak…enjoy!
