Generally speaking, Communion portraits tend to be really serious and somewhat gloomy if you ask me. A First Communion is a beautiful rite of passage that is truly a happy occasion in the Catholic community. As such, I prefer really natural, upbeat, genuine portraits with lots of sweetness and smiles. Bianca’s Mom felt the same way, so it was a perfect match. Lovely Bianca started out a little shy but warmed up nicely, giving me some beautiful expressions and images. LOVE that last one. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

Very Likable Andrea • First Communion Photographer Miami
I did Andrea’s older sister’s First Communion portraits about five or six years ago, so I was absolutely thrilled when Mom called about photographing Andrea this time around. They are practically complete opposites in personality. Andrea made me laugh many times and was utterly unguarded in front of the camera. In her words, “I’m very likable”… so funny. Loved her spunk and confidence…and her curls! Can’t wait to hear her remarks when she sees the whole session. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa
Sophia’s First Communion • Miami Children portrait photography
It’s so hard to fathom sometimes how fast time passes by. I first photographed Sophia when she was almost two years old…on film!…and now it’s her First Communion! What?!?! I’m feeling a little old right now. :) As always, she was the sweetest girl to photograph, such a warm and tender personality. We did these in her backyard so it was very relaxed and comfortable. The best part was that grandpa and grandma were in town for her Communion, so we got some shots with them also, such a blessing. Congratulations Sophia on this beautiful milestone! Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

First Communion + Baseball • First Communion Photos Miami
I know, you’re thinking First Communion and baseball? Yup. That’s what we did, two in one. :) I’ve known Mariano’s Mom and family for a few years now, and she and I had talked many times about doing a baseball shoot for Mariano but life would always happen (and not the shoot). :) So, since it was time for Mariano’s First Communion portraits, Mom figured we could focus the second half of the shoot on his LOVE for baseball…and so we did. It was soooo fun. Can’t wait to show her all the photos. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

I Can’t help it • communion portrait photography miami
I imagine that Isabella was itching to tell me just that, “I can’t help it!”. I had asked her not to smile in a few shots and she just couldn’t! She really really tried but the result was always a funny and awkward face which completely betrayed her effort of holding back a smile. But, there were about four shots where she succeeded and I managed to get her to look straight at me and they were perfect (as you can see). I photographed her little brother’s Baby Collection (he’s now 4), but had never photographed her, so I was thrilled when Mom called me about taking her First Communion photos. Isabella is so sweet, gentle and angelic in these images. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa
