This was their first professional photo session. I’m so happy that Mom loved their photos and incredibly honored that they chose VLM Studios. From the get go Jaylen was non-stop as ALL almost-two-year-olds are at this stage. When we got to the beach he did not like the sand at all, but eventually warmed up to it and the water, and then it was all fun splashing and running up and down the shore. He’s got the most amazing sparkling eyes and a smile that will cause hearts to pitter-patter when he gets older…for now, he’s all Mom’s. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

This little monkey turned two! • Kids photographer miami florida
Seems like only yesterday I photographed Ethan as a newborn and through his first year of life. He’s now two…TWO! And… it’s already March! I mean, it was just Christmas! The sheer speed at which life goes by seems to increase the older I (we) get, which makes capturing these snippets of life all the more important…because they fly by. The more I see life through my camera and experience the beauty of the seemingly mundane things, the more I realize that life…LIFE…happens in between in the almost imperceptible ordinary things. It’s in the ‘little’ things where life weaves its quilt, piecing together the ‘big’ moments that seem so much more important but in the end it’s all the ‘little‘ things that have the most impact. The million ‘little‘ things that happen in a photo shoot that are ‘in between’ that’s where I see life at its peak. In the ‘space between’ hugs, smiles, runs, cries, laughs…that’s when life happens that’s when life is inspired. There was no short supply of beautiful in-between moments in Ethan’s shoot as you can see. I love photographing him and his family, it’s always a blast. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

Country Style • child photography miami
You may think that Gabriella is a professional model by looking at these shots. But, while not a model, you could say she’s a pro by now. You see, I’ve been photographing her since she was just 3 months old and she’s now five! Some people are just natural in front of a camera and, from her very first session, Gabriella knew just what to do to look adorable and natural. The thing is that, since I’ve photographed her for so long, pretty much everywhere, it’s always a fun challenge coming up with something new for her sessions. Mom and I talk about themes and locations and buy props and it’s a blast every time. Gabriella loves the outdoors, nature and animals, so for this session we did a country style theme. Mom (as always) got the cutest outfits and accessories, and with a perfect day to boot, everything was totally ON for the shoot. Gabriella once again just brought it, I mean, seriously, isn’t she adorable? Such a fun session. I was so amazed at how big she’s gotten that I went through her old sessions and thought I’d share those with you…you can see them at the end of this post. Time flies…don’t forget to stop and document it. ♥ Vanessa

These are highlights of some of Gabriella’s past sessions. I got teary just going over these. She’s growing so fast, but maturing and blossoming so beautifully. The first row are from her first 18 months and was all done on film (feels like an eternity ago that I was shooting only film). The first one with the baby mohawk was at around 3 months. Sigh…so blessed to be able to do this for a living, to be welcomed into a family and to be entrusted with documenting so many lives.

Spunk & Spice • Children photography in Miami
There was a whole-lotta-pink princess magic going on in Elizabeth’s 3rd Birthday session. As you can see, She’s a very powerful and tender princess who will one day rule the land sprinkled with pink feathers, necklaces and tiaras. This was such a fun session. She made me laugh out loud so many times with her out-of-this-world spunk, personality and imagination. Can’t wait to photograph her again. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

Two Tutus • children portrait photography miami
For Kalia’s 6 month session, the whole family headed to Miami Beach for a tutu filled photo shoot. You remember Kalia’s newborn session in the studio right? Yeah, she’s now 6 months old! What’s going on this year? It seriously feels like it’s flying to me. Either that or, I’m {plain and simple} getting OLD. I remember when I was in my teens, my parents (or anyone older than 30) always talked about time in these terms: “oh, there’s not enough time in the day”, “time goes by so fast, they’re growing up so quickly”, which I always disregarded as ‘old people’ talk. Well, as it seems…I am now officially “old people” because I can’t seem to go a day without saying something about how fast time is passing. The beauty of it is that this awareness of time has taught me to really see, as well as to stop and appreciate the little things. The beauty of a sunset, the silence of the beach, the colors in the sky, the simplest of things. All those things were present for this gorgeous family’s photo shoot, absolutely beautiful, and although still cold, they were superb. After the shoot I stayed behind at the beach and captured some images to remember the beauty of this day, you can see those in this post. For now, I’ll leave you with these two princesses in the best tutus ever. Leave them some love (comments)… ♥ Vanessa
