Generally speaking, Communion portraits tend to be really serious and somewhat gloomy if you ask me. A First Communion is a beautiful rite of passage that is truly a happy occasion in the Catholic community. As such, I prefer really natural, upbeat, genuine portraits with lots of sweetness and smiles. Bianca’s Mom felt the same way, so it was a perfect match. Lovely Bianca started out a little shy but warmed up nicely, giving me some beautiful expressions and images. LOVE that last one. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

You’ve seen Tomas and his whole family on the blog a few times…click here and here if you haven’t and are curious. Now, he’s is all grown up and ridiculously adorable! He was not in the mood for pictures, or pausing, or anything other than eating and playing – as expected. Needless to say, it was very stressful for Mommy who I’m sure will be really happy to see the outcome of this shoot. It’s her birthday this coming Monday…Happy Birthday!!! I dare you to look at these photos and not smile! Giuliano is the smiliest little guy I’ve photographed in a long long time. And what a smile he has too, it’s contagious! You’ve seen this family a few times on the blog because we were doing Giuliano’s 1st year Chichi Baby Collection. This was his final session – the big birthday one and he made sure to make it memorable…he was NON STOP. He loved the water as you can see here. It was quite  a mission keeping him from getting in there as long as we did, so we just gave up. Hopefully there will be another little one soon…right Walky? ;) Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

Yes, it was nothing but love for these kids. Really lovely watching how much they genuinely cared about and loved each other. My favorite is the last shot where Briana and Brody are looking into the window to see if there was a monster in there. In case you’re wondering, there wasn’t…just sayin’. LOL There will be a new little monter added to the family soon though as Mom is pregnant . We’ll hopefully be photographing baby soon! ;) Enjoy Shannon! ♥ Vanessa

At long last, I’m posting this session of my good friend Crystal and her handsome boys. I was beyond happy that, after about 5 years of sessions, she finally decided to get in a few shots with her boys. They adore her and she them. It was a chilly, windy, lovely day for a stroll and some pictures. We stopped for ice cream and had dinner afterwards to wrap up a perfect afternoon. Love you guys!!! See you soon C… ♥ Vanessa

Logan was named after the Wolverine character in the X-Men movies…and what a character he is! He’s got adorable faces, amazing eyes and such a sweet disposition. Love photographing him and Mom both of whom you’ve seen here on the blog a few times. This was his 10 month session. Can’t wait to see him walking. See you soon Annette! ♥ Vanessa

Words are insufficient to express how happy I feel about baby Lucas’ arrival, who came to bless and make my lovely friends a family. You might remember Sandra’s birthday/maternity session a few months back here on the blog. We did Lucas’ session within a week of his arrival yet he was the most awake baby I have ever photographed. My favorite thing this session was Dad telling Lucas, “Luc I am your father”….hahaha. Love it! Here’s for you Sandra and Jorge, see you soon. Enjoy!  ♥ Vanessa

It’s hard to believe that the Holiday Season came and went once again in the blink of an eye. The decorations are coming down and we’re already preparing for Valentine’s Day – I’m sure every store will be decorated with hearts by this weekend. Before it’s all over I wanted to share a special session from an adorable Santa’s Little Helper that came to the studio with Grandma and Mom, who was so excited to get her baby’s first Christmas immortalized. This was their first professional photo session. I’m so happy that Mom loved their photos and incredibly honored that they chose VLM Studios. From the get go Jaylen was non-stop as ALL almost-two-year-olds are at this stage. When we got to the beach he did not like the sand at all, but eventually warmed up to it and the water, and then it was all fun splashing and running up and down the shore. He’s got the most amazing sparkling eyes and a smile that will cause hearts to pitter-patter when he gets older…for now, he’s all Mom’s. Enjoy!  ♥ Vanessa

When baby Nicolas was born, big brother Gabriel said they were now ’5 Guys’ and he was beyond ecstatic that it was yet another brother. I’ve photographed the boys since they were born and for the first time we have been able to do a complete family photo session…the 5 Guys and the 2 Ladies. We managed traffic delays, minor temper tantrums, and time running out to get some beautiful images. So glad we were able to get everyone in these. Very very special. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa
