Generally speaking, Communion portraits tend to be really serious and somewhat gloomy if you ask me. A First Communion is a beautiful rite of passage that is truly a happy occasion in the Catholic community. As such, I prefer really natural, upbeat, genuine portraits with lots of sweetness and smiles. Bianca’s Mom felt the same way, so it was a perfect match. Lovely Bianca started out a little shy but warmed up nicely, giving me some beautiful expressions and images. LOVE that last one. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

A few weeks ago I photographed the attorneys and staff of Revilla Law Firm at their offices. A total of nine people in a little over two hours including background and lighting set-up and breakdown. In their case, the images will be used for the firm’s website and online publications. Isabella is a seriously fashionable graduate who will be off to college in a couple of months. I’ve been photographing her brothers since they were all newborns, and her (on and off) since she was 11 years old. How time has flown! Isabella has truly blossomed and, I know, is making Mom and Dad very proud. Her shoot got split into two days due to terrible traffic which, in the end, worked out SO perfectly I can’t even tell you…so I’ll just show you. :) Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

Smart, funny and original…that’s Caitlin. Hers was a fantastic Dream Quince session in every way, although it was actually 16! When planning her shoot, we spoke about her favorite video games – which have powerful kick-butt princess characters – not exactly the typical princess image little girls are obsessed with lately. This was totally up my alley! Loved her last outfit – strong, fun, and an absolute conversation starter. After such a long and fun shoot, we hung out a little longer chatting about life over delicious tapas. What a treat knowing this sweet girl and her Mom. Lovely people. Here’s a slice of the shoot. A few weeks ago I got a message from Sharon with the great news – she was expecting another baby! I hadn’t seen them since we did Eddy Jo’s first birthday session a year ago. He’s so big! As usual, Sharon selected great colors for this shoot and was absolutely glowing. You’ve seen Tomas and his whole family on the blog a few times…click here and here if you haven’t and are curious. Now, he’s is all grown up and ridiculously adorable! He was not in the mood for pictures, or pausing, or anything other than eating and playing – as expected. Needless to say, it was very stressful for Mommy who I’m sure will be really happy to see the outcome of this shoot. It’s her birthday this coming Monday…Happy Birthday!!! I dare you to look at these photos and not smile! Giuliano is the smiliest little guy I’ve photographed in a long long time. And what a smile he has too, it’s contagious! You’ve seen this family a few times on the blog because we were doing Giuliano’s 1st year Chichi Baby Collection. This was his final session – the big birthday one and he made sure to make it memorable…he was NON STOP. He loved the water as you can see here. It was quite  a mission keeping him from getting in there as long as we did, so we just gave up. Hopefully there will be another little one soon…right Walky? ;) Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

Yes, it was nothing but love for these kids. Really lovely watching how much they genuinely cared about and loved each other. My favorite is the last shot where Briana and Brody are looking into the window to see if there was a monster in there. In case you’re wondering, there wasn’t…just sayin’. Trying to make a short and sweet blog post out of Carolina’s 600 images was so much tougher than I thought it would be. Usually I can select them very quickly, but in this case there were so many great ones it was like a kid in a candy store being told to pick just one or 5 in this case. We ended up doing two sessions due to windy weather – twice in Vizcaya – and the second time around was absolutely picture perfect. We ended at the beach with some hippie chic shots that are some of my favorites. Soooo…here’s a long post of this stunning girl, truly beautiful inside and out. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa

What a strong woman Sarah is – physically and mentally. We had a great time chatting during her maternity photo session. She wanted to do the shoot at the park she lovingly calls her backyard because her apartment is practically next door to it and she spends a lot of time there. Loved the idea. She really came alive with the black outfit, which initially was a little somber, but once we added my pink shawl it popped! I’m really looking forward to photographing the baby’s first year and getting to know Sarah even better. Enjoy! ♥ Vanessa
